AS7150 Optical Force Sensing Analog Front End

ams OSRAM AS7150 Optical Force Sensing Analog Front End (AFE) is a low noise, high dynamic range proximity detection AFE optimized for optical force sensing applications. This device consists of two low-noise ADC channels capable of simultaneous acquisition of two photodiodes. The AS7150 AFE features an integrated LED driver and a high integration factor, packaged in a small 1.67mm x 1.67mm WLCSP. The proximity function synchronizes IR emission and detection to sense nearby objects. This device's sensitivity, power consumption, and noise can be optimized with adjustable LED timing and power. The AS7150 AFE features a proximity engine that recognizes detect/release events and produces a configurable interrupt whenever the proximity result crosses the upper or lower threshold settings. Typical applications include mobile phones, tablets, smart glasses, and earbuds.
