Analog Devices Inc. AD7124-4/-8 Analog Front Ends

Analog Devices AD7124-4/-8 Analog Front Ends (AFE) portfolio features low power, low noise, completely integrated AFEs for high precision measurement applications. Developed with the highest degree of signal chain integration, the AD7124-4/-8 AFE contains a low noise, 24-bit sigma-delta (Σ-Δ) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) as well as a precision, low noise, low drift internal bandgap reference. The device also accepts an external differential reference, which can be internally buffered.

Other key integrated features include programmable low drift excitation current sources, burnout currents, and a bias voltage generator, which sets the common-mode voltage of a channel to AVDD/2. The on-chip low gain stage ensures that signals of small amplitude can be interfaced directly to the ADC. An integrated channel sequencer allows designers to enable up to 16 channels simultaneously.

Features

  • Crosspoint multiplexed analog inputs
    • 4 differential/7 pseudo-differential inputs
  • Available in a 32-lead LFCSP and a 24-lead TSSOP package

Fully Integrated 4-Wire RTD Temperature Measurement System for High Precision Measurement Applications

Manufacturing processes require highly precise and reliable temperature measurement technologies. Resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) are especially suitable because of their fast response times and superior sensitivities up to a few hundred μV/°C. They can also be used for temperature measurement over a very wide range of –200°C to 800°C with a nearly linear behavior.
