Carlo Gavazzi PD30 IO-Link Photoelectric Sensors

Carlo Gavazzi PD30 IO-Link Photoelectric Sensors are designed for flexible and intelligent sensing to accurately detect objects with various sizes, shapes, and surfaces. These sensors feature four special application functions pre-programmed: speed and length, pattern recognition, divider/counter, and object and gap monitoring. Each has been developed to optimize typical industry applications through design simplification, flexible configurations, and ease of maintenance/troubleshooting. An IO-Link configurator is required to change sensor settings during initial installation; however, the application functions are accessible even without an IO-Link operating environment.

The PD30 IO-Link sensors offer a wide range of sensing modes, including diffuse-reflective, retro-reflective, polarized reflective, retro-reflective PointSpot, background suppression, background suppression PointSpot, and foreground suppression. Typical applications include machine tooling, packaging and wrapping, material handling, plastic and rubber, and food and beverage.

Features

  • Detects presence or absence of objects by detecting reflected light energy from the object
  • Sensor can be operated in IO-Link mode once connected to an IO-Link master or in standard I/O mode
  • Received light intensity as process data
  • Neighbor inference protection
  • Faster sensor response time due to algorithms directly in the sensor
  • More accurate sensor performance from optimal setup
  • Avoid downtime due to early warning capabilities and schedule planned maintenance prior to failure

  • Simplified machine control system layouts thanks to decentralization
  • Reduced programming optimizes production processes
